How much iodine is in SeaQuo® Immune?

SeaQuo® Immune contains approximately 36 mcg of iodine per capsule. Because our seaweed supplement is a natural product, iodine content can vary, with a maximum potential of 50 mcg per capsule.

Can I take SeaQuo® Immune if I have a thyroid condition?

If you have an autoimmune thyroid condition such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Graves' disease, you may have been advised to be cautious with seaweed supplements due to iodine content. In some cases, too much iodine can exacerbate thyroid issues. SeaQuo® Immune contains a tested, naturally occurring level of iodine (approximately 36 mcg per capsule). As iodine needs are individual, we recommend speaking with your healthcare practitioner, who can advise whether a seaweed supplement is right for you.

How do I take it?

Adults take two capsules daily, or as advised by your healthcare practitioner. Capsules can be taken with or without food at any time of day. If you have a sensitive stomach, taking them with food can feel more comfortable. Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

By nature, the seaweed powder in our capsules may have been exposed to crustaceans, fish products and other marine matter in the ocean. Although all efforts are made to remove marine matter, there may still be trace amounts present.

If you have an allergy or sensitivity to shellfish or seafood, we do not recommend taking SeaQuo® Immune capsules. Always speak to your healthcare practitioner before commencing supplementation if you have any concerns.

Is the seaweed harvested near antibiotic-treated salmon farms?

No. Our Undaria pinnatifida seaweed is harvested from the east coast of Tasmania, away from salmon farms and other industrial activity. Harvesting takes place off the coast of locations such as St Helens, Bicheno and Maria Island.

We do not harvest from the D'Entrecasteaux Channel or other south-east waterways where antibiotic treatment of farmed salmon has occurred.

Further, every harvest is tested for purity and quality before being used in our products.

Is SeaQuo® Immune certified organic?

The wild-harvested Tasmanian seaweed contained in our SeaQuo® Immune capsules is certified organic. However, SeaQuo® Immune itself is not certified organic. We have a strong focus on the highest quality ingredients, sourced locally where possible.
