FAQs
How much iodine is in SeaQuo® Immune?
SeaQuo® Immune contains approximately 36 mcg of iodine per capsule. While our latest test results indicate this value, it's important to note that the iodine content may vary due to the natural nature of our product, with a maximum potential range of 50 mcg per capsule based on the seaweed's iodine content.
Can I take SeaQuo® Immune if I have a thryoid condition?
If you have an autoimmune thyroid condition, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Graves' disease, you may have been advised to avoid seaweed supplements due to the high iodine content of some seaweeds. In some cases, too much iodine can exacerbate thyroid issues.
As different seaweeds contain varying levels of iodine, always enquire about the iodine content of a seaweed supplement and consult a healthcare provider who can help you determine the allowable dietary intake of iodine and if seaweed supplements are a suitable addition to your supplement routine. SeaQuo® Immune contains approximately 36 mcg of iodine per capsule.
Does the seaweed in SeaQuo® Immune contain heavy metals?
We have 2 categories for testing heavy metals in our seaweed.
1. Total heavy metals: the specification we work to is less than 10 parts per million
2. Inorganic arsenic: the specification we work to is less than 2 parts per million
The rigorous testing undergone to determine if we meet the specifications always results in being less than the above.
Can I take SeaQuo® Immune if I have shellfish or seafood allergies?
By nature, the seaweed powder in our capsules may have been exposed to crustaceans, fish products and other foreign bodies in the ocean. Although all efforts are made to remove these contaminants, there may still be trace amounts of crustaceans, fish, or marine foreign bodies present. If you have a sensitivity to shellfish or seafood, we would not recommend taking SeaQuo® Immune capsules. Always speak to your health practitioner before commencing supplementation if you have any concerns.
Is SeaQuo® Immune certified organic?
The wild-harvested Tasmanian seaweed contained in our SeaQuo® Immune capsules is certified organic, however, SeaQuo® Immune itself is not certified organic. We have a strong focus on the highest quality ingredients, sourced locally where possible.
